The purpose of the Wilderness Road Therapeutic Camping Association, Inc. is to preserve in practice among member organizations the principles of therapeutic camping developed by Campbell Loughmiller and implemented by Buford McKenzie (Chief Mac) during forty years of camping; to offer mutual support in dealing with regulatory matters; to set standards for preserving the original model; to cooperate in staff training; and to share with other programs interested in pursuing the basic concepts of the original model. |
